Every Cheating During Testing exam prints a version letter on the answer sheet. Community guides and the in-game prompts treat this as Version A versus Version B. Copying a neighbor without checking that letter is one of the quietest ways to finish with an F. The phone is tied to your photograph. A friend’s paper is not a key unless the versions match.

How to read the letter

As soon as you sit, open the sheet with [R] Open Answer Sheet from Controls. Look at the printed version before you bubble anything. Do this facing forward so Anxiety stays low. If you cannot find the letter, do not copy anyone — run the Phone Trick on your own page.

Seats do not guarantee the same version. Two desks in the same classroom map can still disagree. Treat version as per-player state, not as a lobby-wide setting.

Why neighbor copies fail

Version B answers are not Version A answers. A table that looks synchronized can still be two different keys. Players who glance left during a punish window from Safe Windows often copy the wrong alphabet and then wonder why the phone list disagrees. The phone is correct for your photo. The neighbor is a rumor.

If you play with friends, say the version letter once in voice, then stop talking. Do not narrate every bubble — that slows the holster and paints a snitch target. Party habits live on Party and Trust. VIP servers are still off, so public lobbies mix versions and strangers.

Phone photos versus peeking

The all-A method photographs your sheet. Skipped numbers are already correct as A on your version. Filling a neighbor’s C into a skipped A slot is how a clean scan becomes a mixed paper. After a photo, only enter letters the phone still lists. Leave skipped items alone.

Pause Loading if you need a beat to confirm you are still on your own UI, not a friend’s screen share. Then holster and write with the pencil trick.

Auto-answer scripts and version drift

Client overlays advertised on Auto Answer and CM Hub can show stale keys after a patch or mismatch Version B. If an overlay disagrees with your phone photo, trust the photo. Ban risk still applies — this wiki documents what players search, it does not make overlays safe.

Scoring impact

A mixed-version paper looks like a student who never used the phone: low percent, Rookie Cheater tag, weak Credits on Assessment Rewards. Class average near 23% includes people who copied the wrong letter. Perfect 100% Ultimate Cheater runs on Ultimate Cheater require a consistent sheet, not a collage.

Checklist before the first photo

1. Seat claimed — Seat Strategy.
2. Shift Lock off — Getting Started.
3. Version letter read out loud once (to yourself).
4. All-A prefill on this sheet only.
5. Teacher head away, then photograph.
6. Never paste a neighbor’s row onto skipped numbers.

When the letter is hard to see

BETA UI can hide the letter under camera angle. Nudge so the header of the sheet is visible before you lift the phone. If a patch moves the label, check the lobby Update Log and Latest Update. Do not invent a version from memory of last exam — versions can reshuffle between tests.

Teaching a squad

Assign: one person calls version, everyone else stays quiet. If two friends have different letters, they are not a study group. They are two solo phone users sitting together. Spend Credits on phones via Shop Items instead of betting the run on a shared glance.

Version literacy is a one-second habit that saves entire assessments. Read the letter. Photograph yourself. Leave neighbors out of it unless the letters match and you already trust them.
